Abstract
What is light? It needs abstractive imagination to understand the current optical theory. Is the light really not understandable? Light is objective. Rational determines its necessary objective entity. Then how to study the nature of light from its phenomenon? This paper will approach the question through a diffraction experiment, by adjusting the experimental conditions, to conclude the basic and objective unit measurement of light by the changes in the diffraction patterns originated from its diffraction slot distance. By placing different densities media and depolarization mirror in the light transmission direction, and analyzing the changes in the diffraction patterns produced, we can study the light essence and the production of son wave in diffraction, further more analyze the mechanism of light origin via characteristics of quantum energy and energy jump in atoms. All these are used to explain the contradictory experiments of wave and particles theories – photoelectric effects. And also we can come up with the theory of the nature of light – the definition of “light wave”
