Optics Quality Engineer and Team Leader--SH
The optics quality engineer will be in charge of leading the team for incoming inspection and quality control of optical components. The optics QC team leader will be responsible for the optics QC team and will work closely with the manufacturing and purchasing department and will hold responsibility for guaranteeing the quality of all incoming components.
Responsibilities:
• Quality Assurance for precision optics and opto-mechanical components.
• Create and document Acceptance Test Procedures, quality plans and methods for optical components and assemblies.
• Build and manage the optics quality control and inspection team.
• Work closely with purchasing department to qualify vendors and ensure product compliance
Requirements:
• Minimum of 5-6 years of related experience in Optics Fabrication/Inspection (For Engineer, around 3 yrs related experience is OK)
• MSc or BS degree in Optics, Optoelectronics, Physics or Engineering.
• Strong experience and knowledge of optical inspection methods and metrology for design, fabrication, and production of optical components and assemblies is required.
• Experience with Optical inspection equipment such as interferometers, auto-collimators, spectrophotometers, and optical comparators.
• Familiar with optical specifications such as scratch/dig, transmission, focal length, etc.
• Experience implementing or maintaining ISO 9001 or AS9000 quality systems/procedures a plus.
• background in optics and/or thin-film coating
• Person must be very organized and detail oriented.
• Experience with mechanical QC and familiar with mechanical inspection equipment such as CMM, calipers, indicator gauges, etc.
• Experience in purchasing is a plus
Language: must have good written and spoken English
