Leading Sports Optic company, located in the heart of Big Game Hunting territory, has an engineering position open for a career minded individual. At least 5 years of experience in an engineering group where design, development, and production is required. This individual will be a part of the engineering team reporting to the Vice President of Operations and will be expected to contribute substantially to the company’s bottom line by managing new product development to agreed schedules and solving production and process issues.
This is a salaried position but extra time will be expected as needed to meet development & production needs. Salary based on experience. Also includes a comprehensive benefits package.
Requirements Include:
• 4 year minimum Engineering degree required. Preference for specialization is ElectroOptics. Mechanical, Electrical, Optics, or Physics will also be considered if the background experience is a fit.
• Must be Zemax and Solidworks design capable.
• Designing electronic circuitry and optical components for riflescope and binocular applications.
• Experience in visual optics, LEDs, OLEDs, lasers, designing for low power consumption, tight packaging requirements, and systems integration of software and hardware.
• Must be experienced with the entire product development cycle and have demonstrated experience defining, scheduling and managing several projects from cradle to grave.
• Must have demonstrated experience designing close tolerance, precision metal parts and assemblies using GD&T. Must have working knowledge of modern manufacturing techniques and processes and be able to use all common measuring tools.
• Must have experience developing design, performance and process/assembly specifications and purchase agreements.
• Must be quick on their feet, decisive, and mechanically inclined, able to troubleshoot and solve design and process and assembly issues as they arise.
• Must have very good time management, organization, and multi-tasking skills.
• Must be a good listener, a good motivator, able to maintain supportive, professional relationships with other departments to help drive process improvements throughout the company.
• Competent using common Microsoft Office applications including MS project, Power point, Word, & Excel.
