We (API: Automated Precision Inc.) are looking for a active and positive attit
ude service engineer to work in a API service centre in Shanghai Asia Pacific
(AP) operation for Laser Trackers, XD Laser and Metrology Products. The deman
ding role will require on site and in house routine service and repair work fo
r the many systems that have been sold within the Metrology business area in A
P. The position may develop the need for the successful applicant to logistica
lly manage our stand-by fleet of instruments for the Asian region. It is expe
cted that the individuals’ knowledge will grow to enable work of a higher and
more intricate level on the instrument’s laser interferometer and absolute d
istance meter, as well as I-Probe, I-Scan, XD Laser and other metrology produc
ts. Work of this nature is conducted within our purpose built service facility
. System configuration, installation and support are among the many day to da
y activities offered by this exiting post.
Requirements:
• Good English skills
• Willing to stay in USA for 0.5 to 2 months in the first year, 1 to 4 w
eeks in the following years
• Willing to work internationally, across the country borders
• Field service experience is an advantage but the ability to represent
our business in a confident and professional manner is essential.
• Conversant with the full range of workshop tools and test/measurement
equipment.
• General experience of optical, mechanical and electronic service/repai
r.
• Computer literate to enable the use of test software and carry out sof
tware product installation, configuration, fault diagnoses and telephone suppo
rt. An understanding of “Windows” system administration is an advantage.
• Good telephone manor.
• Logistical managerial skills that would benefit the operation of our s
tand-by fleet would be an advantage.
• Committed and a desire to learn and be challenged by this exciting tec
