| 摘要:本文运用激光腔的矩阵理论 ,给出了内含热厚透镜的平 -平腔的G参数及热稳条件 ,进而用图示法对给定腔长的谐振腔进行了优化设计 ,并用设计的参数进行了实验。当输入电功率为450W时激光输出功率为50W,电-光转换效率11.1%,光-光效率达到30%,功率稳定度优于±0.2 %。 |

| High-efficiency Nd:YVO4 laser end-pumped with a diode laser bar |

摘要:Diode end-pumped solid-state lasers have the potential to yield high quality laser beams with high efficiency. However, its limited pump volume results in limited output power, usually under 1W. This paper presents a high-efficiency Nd:YVO4 laser end-pumped by a 15W diode laser bar. An optical-optical efficiency as high as 42% and an output laser power of over 3W were obtained with a beam quality factor, M2, of less than 1.2 and an output stability of ± 0.5%. Theoretical calculations and experimental data showed that the pumping laser beam was well- matched to the intracavity laser mode. |

| Excimer laser drilling of polymers |

摘要:Laser micro-drilling technology plays a more and more important role in industry, especially in the fabrication of multi-layer electronic packages. In such applications, non-metals are often used as insulators, in which via holes are formed to provide vertical interconnections for densely packed three dimensional wiring networks. Mechanical punch tools have been the primary means to form holes in ceramic sheets and in polymer boards since the 1970's. As the cost of fabricating punch heads increases drastically and the demand for quick turn around part build becomes more routine, flexible via forming technologies, such as laser drilling, have become more prevalent. In laser drilling, CO2, Nd:YAG, and excimer lasers are often used. Their drilling capabilities, drilling mechanisms, and hole qualities are different because of the different laser beam characteristics such as wavelength and beam energy distribution. In this paper, the mechanisms of laser drilling are briefly reviewed. The results of the experiments on excimer laser drilling of two types of polymer: polyimide and polyethylene terephthalate, are reported. It is found that the etch rate increases with increase of fluence, and the wall angle of drilled holes is dependent on the fluence. The material removal by a laser pulse is highly controllable. There exists an optimal fluence range to obtain clean and smooth edges of quality holes for a given material at a given laser wavelength. |

| Application of Taguchi method in the optimisation of laser micro-engraving of photomasks |

| 摘要: Photomasks are needed to generate various design patterns in the fabrication of liquid crystal displays (LCDs). This paper discusses the use of the Taguchi method of experimental design in optimising process parameters for micro-engraving of iron oxide coated glass using a Q-switched Nd:YAG laser. The effects of five key process parameters - beam expansion ratio, focal length, average laser power, pulse repetition rate and engraving speed - have been explored. The primary response under study is the engraving line width. An L16 orthogonal array was used to accommodate the experiments. The study indicated that a minimum line width of 18 mm could be obtained with beam expansion ratio of 5 times, focal length of 50 mm, laser average power of 0.4 W, pulse repetition rate of 5 kHz, and engraving speed of 5000 mm/min. |

| Calculation of optical parameters in laser engraving of photomasks |

| 摘要:In laser engraving of photomasks, the line width is one of the critical characteristics in determining the quality of masks and depends mainly upon the laser focus spot size. In this paper, a theoretical equation relating the laser focus spot size to the optical parameters of the laser system, including resonator parameters, beam expansion ratio and focal length of the focusing lens is derived. Confirmatory experiments using a Q-switched Nd:YAG laser system and photomasks with iron oxide coatings were carried out. The obtained actual spot sizes lay within 10% of the theoretical value. |

| Passive Q-switching of a Nd:YAG laser with a GaAs output coupler |

| 摘要:By using GaAs as an output coupler as well as a saturable absorber, passive Q-switching of an arc-lamp pumped Nd:YAG laser has been demonstrated. The shortest pulse duration obtained was 77.6 ns, corresponding to a pulse energy of 34 μJ. The laser average output power was 2.1 W with a power density in GaAs at 1.5×103 W cm–2. No optical damage to GaAs was observed without any active cooling. |
