为了明年的涨价和版本调整做准备,ZEMAX从上一版本开始对SE版本的功能做了比较大的调整。新功能分配如下:
November 25, 2003
New Features
The maximum number of configurations is now 160.
Toroidal lenses are now supported by the Convert to NSC tool.
GRADIUM profile file names are now selectable on the System, General, File tab; and the extension for GRADIUM profiles has been changed from DAT to GRD.
The Polarization Pupil Map sampling is now user selectable.

New Features
ZEMAX-SE now supports the ZPL macro language feature, and both the Global Search and Hammer optimization algorithms. Both ZEMAX-SE and XE now support optimization of macro computations.
The NSC Sphere object may now be either a volume or a hollow shell.
The NSC Detector Viewer now supports a minimum as well as maximum plot scale, to better display nearly uniform data.
The NSC Lost Energy is now divided into energy lost due to ray errors and lost due to minimum energy threshold settings.
Segment errors are now displayed in the ZRD viewer, and a new filter has been added for selecting ray segments with errors.
Segments are now flaged as bulk scattered if they scatter within an object volume, and a new filter has been added to select bulk scattered rays.
A new NSC Lenslet 2 object has been added. The object is similar to the standard lens object with a rectangular aperture.
The NSC Lenslet 1 and Lenslet objects now support automatic arrays. Defining the number of lenslets in x and y creates a lenslet array as a single object.
New NSC object elliptical volume can be used to model tapered volumes and surfaces with elliptical cross sections.
NSC objects cylinder pipe and volume 2 now support both X and Y tilt angles on front and back faces.
The Export CAD feature now supports options to export any configuration, or all configurations at once, either in separate files or layers.
The Export CAD feture now remembers user preferred settings between ZEMAX sessions.
POP analysis and the beam file viewer now support logarithmic scaling of data.
A new option to auto rescale the beam at any surface has been added to the POP analysis feature.
Copy Spreadsheet is now available on the Multi-Configuration Editor.
The tool that converts from model glasses to closest glass now uses the glass substitution template to provide better control over the selection.
Previously created universal plot files may now be loaded directly from the universal plot settings box.
Optimization operand NSRA now does not repeat the ray trace for identical rays if only the segment and data number are distinct, resulting in faster ray tracing.
User Defined Aperture (UDA) files may now be scaled by a dimensionless factor for both sequential surfaces and non-sequential objects.
Surface apertures may now be picked up from a previous surface.
The LDE and EDE now indicate the presence of surface tilt/decenter data with the + symbol.
Window menus now support an unlock option to remove a previous lock.
There are now preference settings to control when ZEMAX displays scientific or fixed notation in editors.
ZPL keywords LOCKWINDOW and UNLOCKWINDOW have been added.
ZPL keyword SETNSCPROPERTY has been extended to set 9 different source object properties.
ZPL keyword READNEXT reads just the specified arguments from a data file.
Multiconfiguration operand NCOT has been added to control coatings on NSC objects.
The default lens title is now blank, rather than lens has no title.
The edit cell used in ZEMAX spreadsheets now auto-scrolls to allow entry of long text or numeric data.
Two new bulk scatter DLL samples have been added.
