We are currently searching manufacturing operation talents for some U.S. laser company which is one of the world's leading suppliers of laser systems for semiconductor applications. Its high-tech manufacturing equipment divides into three categories:

Laser systems for memory repair
Laser-drilling systems required for packaging
Inspection, test, termination systems for passive components

Based upon a history that spans more than 50 years, the company's tools help its clients to increase yields and improve product quality at significantly reduced production costs and lower overall cost of ownership. Founded in 1940's, the company produced high precision measurement instruments; then in 1980's, expanded its laser product line by introducing laser system in the repair of dynamic random access memory (DRAM) chips by semiconductor manufacturers. Many a development illustrate that innovation has long been a defining characteristic of its corporate culture.

With head office in Oregon, the company has manufacturing facilities in Oregon and offices throughout the world, including North America, Japan, Europe, China, Taiwan, Korea and Singapore.

The company is well-known in China with sales and service office in Shanghai, RD center just near Tsinghua University, and a startup manufacturing site in Beijing; our client has a great market share in the specific area.

Nowadays, we are recruiting general management talents heading the startup site in Beijing.

In an electro - optical manufacturing environment, oversees and manages all manufacturing operations, including manufacturing itself, local production control, manufacturing engineering, equipment engineering, inventory control, and potentially materials functions, such as purchasing, and shipping/receiving activities.

Acts as a direct liaison with local research and development group. Strong knowledge of optics and laser technology required. Defines goals, improves technologies, and resolves problems in conjunction with managers local employees and support staff.

Develops state-of-the-art manufacturing strategies and processes, resulting in cost-effective processing and profitable manufacturing of company products. Develops operations-related plans, budgets, and policies and procedures. Maintains safety and regulatory compliance relating to the production facility.

Selects, develops, and evaluates personnel to ensure the efficient operation of the function. Monitors the product/program/project from initiation through delivery, interfacing with local RD center on technical matters. Organizes interdepartmental activities ensuring completion of the product/program/project on schedule and within budget constraints.

Assigns and monitors work of systems analysis and program staff, providing technical support and direction. Position has program/project management responsibility related to new products developed by RD center.. Selects, develops and evaluates personnel to ensure the efficient operation of the function and direct people-management responsibility is typically required.

This position is characterized by its management of people assigned to specific projects that have a distinct beginning and end, such as a product launch. Fluency in both Chinese and English (written and spoken) required. This project is a ground up startup, with a long term plan to have 20-30 employees or more managed within the facility.
