5-Axis Positioner I5000
The five-axis positioner I5000 is easy to use, very touch insensitive and hysteresis-free and lets you reach the desired position quickly. Even fibers with a core diameter of 1 - 2 µm can be easily aligned towards each other. With the patented and ergonomic inline-design, all micrometer screws are easily accessible on one side.
Innovation
The five-axis positioner I5000 is equipped with the patented Ratio DriveTM, while other positioners are driven directly. The Ratio DriveTM transmission enables a resolution of 1 nm. The rotation and tilt axes use similar mechanical advantages to convert the linear motion of the micrometer screws into very precise rotation motions. The backlash is at maximum 20 nm. The I5000 is insensitive to vibrations and temperature fluctuations.
Conventional multi-axis positioners usually consist of individual components for the respective motion. The stiffness of the entire structure is lost and the force when touching the adjustment screws is transmitted up to the positioner's output. This results in the known cycle of adjusting, letting go and waiting for the user.
The I5000 consists of two combined basic elements. The Z-adjuster is a separate positioner, while all other axes share the same casing. With this joint stable frame, the force applied by the user is transmitted to the base plate but not to the output of the positioner, which makes positioning very easy. An internal shock absorber eliminates the typical resonance effects of a flexure positioner.
