个人认为如果要好的光束质量那就用低掺杂的，如果要高功率和窄脉宽的还是提高腔的增益，用高点的好，，，，但大功率的好象高也高的不太多。有时我们在做压脉宽实验时，实在没办法了，就换成高增益的棒，效果还可以。

掺杂浓度与有效吸收截面和上能级寿命有关，在掺杂为2at%附近两者的乘机最大，这对于低功率的。对于高功率为了减少热透镜及热致双折射，掺杂有是另一回事。

连续激光器因为要考虑到热效应的影响，所以浓度一般在０.8\0.9的样子，而连续的这方面因素影响要小些,则考虑使用更高浓度的激光棒.

而且浓度高了，会出现浓度梯度等均匀性和浓度猝灭等问题,所以说浓度选择并不是越高越好.

It is not a simple question, because the optimum dopig level depends on the output power level, mode quality (multimode, low order mode or TEM00 mode), pumping and cooling geometry, laser crystal size, and the crystal material.

Most of the opinion above are valid, you can take them into account when you design a laser, but you need to figure out the optimum doping for your laser by carrying out some experiments. I think you only need to try maximum three diferent doping to find the best one.

You should always remember that the laser theory is simple, but there are endless engineering work to make a good laser.

经过实验测定，在其它情况相同的条件下，掺杂难度为2%时，通光长度在2mm时，效果最好。
