Position Title: Supply Chain Manager – China Operations

Reports t Director of Materials, Worldwide Operations

Hours: M - F, 8 - 5, (flexible), overtime expected (daily, weekends if necessary)

Travel: moderate

Position Summary:

Reporting to the Director of Materials, the Supply Chain Manager will be responsible for the tactical and strategic development of local supply chain operations in China.

Responsibilities:

1) Sourcing, development, and qualification of local suppliers in China for key optical commodities.
2) Supplier surveys (Financial, Organizational, Process, and Quality)
3) Real-time supplier interface.
4) Analysis of Optical components market in China.
5) Provide local presence/support at Contract Manufactures in Asia
Factory audits
Assist in product transitions
Product audits
Pricing review and BOM analysis
Transition
6) Local logistical coordination
7) Pricing and Purchase terms negotiations.
8) Cost reduction roadmaps.

Qualifications:

1) Excellent negotiation skills
2) Experience in Purchasing, Materials Management, and Supplier Development.
3) Strong background in the Optical Telecommunications industry.
4) Knowledge of fiber optics and other high technology commodities.
5) Knowledge of the Contract Manufacturing environment.
6) Ability to determine supplier capabilities and financial analysis.
7) Ability to converse in English (written and verbal
8) Excellent communication skills.
9) 3-5 years work experience in procurement, and materials management.
10) BS degree in Business or Engineering.
