Laser Tracker Service Engineer

We (API: Automated Precision Inc.) are looking for a active and positive attitude service engineer to work in a API service centre in Shanghai Asia Pacific (AP) operation for Laser Trackers, XD Laser and Metrology Products. The demanding role will require on site and in house routine service and repair work for the many systems that have been sold within the Metrology business area in AP. The position may develop the need for the successful applicant to logistically manage our stand-by fleet of instruments for the Asian region. It is expected that the individuals’ knowledge will grow to enable work of a higher and more intricate level on the instrument’s laser interferometer and absolute distance meter, as well as I-Probe, I-Scan, XD Laser and other metrology products. Work of this nature is conducted within our purpose built service facility. System configuration, installation and support are among the many day to day activities offered by this exiting post.

Requirements:

• Good English skills
• Willing to work domestic , across the country borders
• Field service experience is an advantage but the ability to represent our business in a confident and professional manner is essential.
• Conversant with the full range of workshop tools and test/measurement equipment.
• General experience of optical, mechanical and electronic service/repair.
• Computer literate to enable the use of test software and carry out software product installation, configuration, fault diagnoses and telephone support. An understanding of “Windows” system administration is an advantage.
• Good telephone manor.
• Logistical managerial skills that would benefit the operation of our stand-by fleet would be an advantage.
• Committed and a desire to learn and be challenged by this exciting technology.
• Based in Shanghai
