Job Description

POSITION: Wafer Fab Operations Manager

LOCATION: Wuxi

REPORT TO:

DEPARTMENT:

BASIC OBJECTIVE & PURPOSE OF JOB:

The Wafer Fab Operation Manager over sees the day-to-day operations of the production team, internal QC team and Equipment team which includes Production Supervisor, Clerk, Team Leader, Foreman, QC Technicians Equipment Manager, Fab Equipment Manager and Backend Equipment Manager.

Any request concerning operation, production plan establish, capacity scheme, internal quality control, training, on time delivery, efficiency improvement, labor requirement plan cost saving and safety implement by the operation manager.

Insuring that production and procedures involving equipment, processing tools and conditions are qualified, safe and efficient to work with is also part of the purpose of this job.

MAJOR SPECIFIC DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES:

Perform direction of manpower to meet the needs of the Wafer Fab Operation. Daily interfacing with Backend, Facilities, Purchasing, and Accounting, to insure the needs of the Backend and the relative team are met in a timely manner.

Complete weekly input and output tracking in operation system to insure production requirements are met.

Set and forecast fab spending requirements  and monitor compliance to spending forecast.

Monitor daily expenses to stay within the budget.

Facilitate the training of all operation team members, this training includes production procedures, and more importantly safety training.

Coordinate multi-organizational activities to support manufacturing.

Drive continuous improvement for productivity, yield and cost reductions.

Interface with peer groups on changes in demand, mix and new products. Coordinate fab activities to meet and accomplish these changes.

Monitor and insure compliance to safety and environmental procedures.

Mentor and motivate fab personnel.

FACTORS:

KNOWLEDGE/EDUCATION REQUIRED:

Bachelor of Science or EE degree or minimum of ten years in Semiconductor Wafer Fab operation managerial experience.

Must exhibit proficiencies in production scheme / implement, quality control and plant layout.

Ability to recruit and hire operational personnel as well as provide training and placement of personnel.

Must possess good judgment and a logical approach to problem solving with attention to small details.

Good command of written and spoken Chinese and English.

Black belt qualified will be excellent.
