Worldwide Optical Film Market Likely to Grow 22% in 2006

Driven by strong demand for LCD TVs, the worldwide LCD optical film market will grow by more than 22% to US$11 billion in 2006, marking the first time that the market will exceed US$10 billion, according to the Industrial Economics and Knowledge Center (IEK) of the government-sponsored Industrial Technology Research Institute (ITRI), as quoted by the Chinese-language Commercial Times.

Although panel makers will continue to cut production costs, the market will keep growing at an annual ratio of more than 10% over the next five years to exceed US$16.8 billion by 2010, the paper quoted the IEK as saying.
